BIOGRAPHY

Miguel Gonzalez is a producer, songwriter, engineer, and studio session bass player.  He has co-written songs with Brian Howe, former lead singer of Bad Company (Atlantic Records), Matt Kramer, former singer of Saigon Kick (Atlantic Records), Ray West former singer of Spread Eagle (MCA Records), and other industry successes and has placed songs with top artists including the band SoiL (J Records / RCA).  Miguel has single-handedly developed and produced some of Florida’s most notable up and coming artists, including: Universal’s 16 Second Stare, singer-songwriter Amber Lynn Nicol, indie rock band Urban Rebel, rock band Loaded Guns, heavy metal band Miami Riot, and the alternative pop rock band The New featuring singer-songwriter Lori Garrote.

“There’s nothing I love more than seeing artists grow through rehearsals and pre-production sessions as I help them bring their ideas to life,” says Miguel.  His diverse ear for music across all genres and his ability to grasp and run with an artist or band’s vision makes him an outstanding producer.

Miguel began his professional music career as the songwriter and bass player for his band Roullette in the early 90’s.  The band was signed to Atlantic Artists and Miguel co-wrote the entire self-titled album, which was a regional success.

After the band dismembered, Miguel went on to play bass for Matt Kramer of Saigon Kick and then Atlantic Records artist Mary Karlzen.

Miguel continued to receive numerous offers to tour with national acts but decided instead to pursue a career in production.  He co-wrote several songs on Matt Kramer’s solo album, “War and Peas,” which was released in 2002 and then in 2003, Miguel opened the doors to his own studio in Miami, FL.

He began producing and developing artists like One Red Wall, Rob Torres of Trapt, Caroline Hope, and Nick Marinovich of Yngwie Malmsteen, to name a few.
He also took time to play bass for Lauren Harris (daughter of Iron Maiden’s Steve Harris) on her debut album “Calm Before the Storm.”

In 2006, Miguel Gonzalez co-wrote and produced Ray West of Spread Eagle’s entire solo album, “All Pointz West,” which received 5 star reviews by fans and critics alike.  Two of the songs off of the album were commercially licensed and the single, “Novacaine” was placed in the FX TV show Sons of Anarchy and the USA Network show Burn Notice.

Miguel Gonzalez is the sole producer for Universal’s 16 Second Stare.  He co-write and produced the band’s entire debut album, “Red Carpet Material,” which received XM and college radio airplay in 2008.  16 Second Stare toured with Crew Fest and Head before going back into the studio with Miguel and cutting their sophomore album.  Two singles off of the self-titled, second album, which was also produced and co-written by Miguel, are currently receiving airplay throughout the US: “Hell Raiser” and “Bonnie & Clyde.”  The latest song released in 2011 by 16 Second Stare and produced by Miguel was a rockin' remake of "The Grinch",  which has received substantial airplay.

Miguel currently tours with Brian Howe, former lead singer of Bad Company.  He played bass on Brian Howe’s 2010 solo album, “Circus Bar,” and co-wrote two songs on the album: “I’m Surrounded” and “If You Want Trouble.”  The song “I’m Surrounded” is currently getting radio airplay throughout the US.  The song was also placed with the band SOiL (J Records, a division of RCA Records), re-recorded as “Surrounded” and debuts on their album, “Picture Perfect.

Miguel is always seeking new talent.  If you’re interested in recording at Purple Studio and/or having Miguel Gonzalez produce your album, please contact:
